Punky power!
We're in LA for the weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday. Today we hit Larchmont Village to check out Punky Brewster's new baby store, The Little Seed, so I could get Brandt a new hat. I love his Baby Naartjie hat, but sometimes it's good to mix things up a bit. Here's a pic of Brandt in Punky's store wearing his new green hat and holding his new Under the Nile eggplant and mushroom.

You can also see his week-old elephant shoes. I lost one of his orange shoes over a month ago and finally broke down and got him a new set. The remaining orange shoe is now his favorite chew toy.
But back to The Little Seed: Before I had a chance to say "Idontneedabag" the gal handed me our purchases in a cute little sack made of twine. But holy patchouli was it smelly! I should have thought to donate to one of the hippies at the farmers market three doors down, but I couldn't even make it that far before I had to toss it. Note to Punky: get different bags.
And a trip to LA would not be complete without a visit to Ikea. I got two bookcases and am so excited about them, but at the same time all I can think about is the cardboard I'm going to generate! On Friday, Brandt and I trekked the remaining carload of cardboard boxes to the recycling center. But now between the packaging from the bookcases and the boxes of books I'll empty, the garage is going to become a mess again.
