Day 21: Baby's first real outing

Out and about

Today was our first family outing. No doctors, no shopping, just a trip out to the neighborhood Spring Fling/Artfest. Dan and Brandt did fine, but I thought it was way too hot. Thank goodness I convinced them we should drive there rather than walk (10 minutes). According to Dan it's not even hot yet and today was, in fact, a perfect day. Whatever. I have to admit I'm a bit bummed out that Brandt will grow up used to this awful climate, rather than be exactly like me--crippled by having been raised in Southern California.

We met two babies: 6 weeks old and 9 weeks old...and they were huge! The moms claimed their babies were Brandt-sized at 3 weeks and he'll definitely grow to their babies' dimensions, but I'll have to see it to believe it.
