Day 17: First solo flight

This is the face I make when it's too sunny

Our plan to hide out indoors until the next well-baby check didn't happen. Today, Brandt and I made our first trip out without Danny. Before now, I've driven with Dan sitting in the middle back seat so he can monitor the baby. Of course Brandt falls asleep as soon as we get in the car so there's not much to monitor, but we feel best travelling in this manner.

Today Brandt and I hit Whole Foods, Babies "R" Us, and Trader Joe's. Brandt slept the entire time and the trip was without incident. "Without incident" is saying a lot considering how people drive here. Today was the first time I've driven anywhere *without* nearly being hit by someone running a red light or making an illegal u-turn or cutting across four lanes of traffic with his eyes closed. The closest Brandt came to waking up was glaring through his closed eyes the two times I aimed him the wrong direction and the sun hit his face.
